Colossus - Osmium Overlord

Steel Skin

Let's get down to business. Colossus is three things.

Tough, Powerful and kinda Slow.

But, what if we changed that?

Colossus' main ability is his Steel Skin, something that we love to have, even if it is fleeting. But fear not! Because we get the benefit of searching a copy of Organic Steel from Piotr Rasputin! As I'm sure we're aware, Colossus can take a hit or two with this card out. And I'm even more sure we're aware of the problems that start when he doesn't have a Tough status-card.

The Not-So Bulletproof Protector

Yeah.. So that happens to us a lot when we're being the tough-guy. I was searching for cards to help him alongside his hero cards when I realised.

"Why don't we just use his cards more often?"

Mutant Education is our best friend since it pairs excellently with our need to flip back to Piotr Rasputin to get our tough back and add a Colossus card back.

Now that's what I call an A+ Education!

With more frequent access to our strongest card-pool, we can guarantee that we're seeing our Organic Steel and other goodies!

Why Justice?

Colossus is many things, but a Thwart-Machine, he is not. Sure, there's the issues surrounding the main ways to thwart. But that's where cards like Great Responsibility kick in. This card is obviously better in multiplayer etc. But think on it. If we stop things like Advance, that's less for us to do later. This also applies to Hinder.

And all of this pairs excellently with Armor Up. It goes without saying that we wish that we could Armor Up more often to avoid threat. But this is where Mutant Education kicks in. We're essentially running delayed, but still relevant, bonus-copies of the good cards. As the game goes on, we more reliably gain access to these cards. Another great combo is Moira MacTaggert. This of course works with Armor Up since it is a Response!

A Colossal Closer

We're running mostly cheap cards because we have our starting hand-size problems. As the game goes on, we start to really ramp up with interactions like Moira MacTaggert, Armor Up and our Unshakable-Iron Will.

If it ever seemed odd that Bulletproof Protector discarded a card as an additional-cost. It's because we gain the benefit of drawing from Iron Will

Been really enjoying playing this. Mutant Education is the secret sauce that makes Colossus sing!
