Seven Rings of Raggadorr is amazing here, providing a tough status card to yourself and two allies, meaning you can keep attacking/thwarting with your allies or have them stay alive after blocking the villain's attack.
Vision is a brilliant combo with The Eye of Agamotto as the artifact ensures that he can attack or thwart at a high level every time.
